Terms and Conditions

1. Membership

By registering as a member of People's Liberation Party, you agree to the following terms:

  • Eligibility: Membership is open to all individuals who support the aims and objectives of People's Liberation Party and are at least 18 years of age.
  • Registration: All information provided during registration must be accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
  • Membership ID: Upon successful registration, you will be issued a unique Membership ID. This ID is personal to you and may not be transferred to another person.
  • Approval: All membership applications are subject to review and approval by the party leadership. We reserve the right to reject any application without providing a reason.

Membership is contingent upon your acceptance of and compliance with these terms.

2. Member Obligations

As a member, you agree to:

  • Uphold the values, principles, and objectives of People's Liberation Party.
  • Participate in party activities and contribute to the achievement of party goals.
  • Keep your membership information up to date through the member portal.
  • Protect your Membership ID and not share it with unauthorized persons.
  • Notify the party immediately of any unauthorized use of your membership.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of Ghana.

Failure to fulfill these obligations may result in suspension or termination of membership.

3. Membership Fees

Membership fees, if applicable, are subject to the following terms:

  • Fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
  • Annual fees are due on the anniversary of your membership.
  • Failure to pay fees may result in suspension of membership benefits.
  • The party reserves the right to adjust membership fees with 30 days' notice.

Donations made to the party are voluntary and are not considered membership fees.

4. Data Protection

In compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana, we are committed to protecting your personal data. By registering, you consent to:

  • The collection and processing of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • The use of your data for party administration, communication, and statistical purposes.
  • The sharing of your information with relevant party organs and structures at national, regional, constituency, and polling station levels.

Legal Basis: Your consent and legitimate interests of the party
Data Retention: Your data will be retained for as long as your membership is active and for a period of 5 years thereafter

You have the right to access, rectify, and request deletion of your personal data. Contact our Data Protection Officer at hello@ghfpp.org for any data-related requests.

5. Code of Conduct

Members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on People's Liberation Party. This includes:

  • Treating fellow members, opponents, and the public with respect and dignity.
  • Avoiding language or actions that could be construed as hate speech, discrimination, or harassment.
  • Refraining from unauthorized representation of the party.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive party information.
  • Using official party channels for internal communications and dispute resolution.

Violation of the code of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from the party.

6. Termination of Membership

Voluntary Termination: You may terminate your membership at any time by providing written notice to the party secretariat.

Involuntary Termination: The party reserves the right to terminate or suspend membership for:

  • Violation of these terms and conditions.
  • Conduct detrimental to the party's interests.
  • Providing false information during registration.
  • Non-payment of applicable fees.
  • Criminal conviction involving moral turpitude.

Upon termination, all membership privileges cease immediately. Your personal data will be handled according to our data retention policy.

7. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or membership shall be resolved through the following process:

  1. Informal Resolution: Parties shall first attempt to resolve disputes informally through discussion with party officials.
  2. Mediation: If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to mediation by a mutually agreed mediator.
  3. Arbitration: Unresolved disputes may be referred to binding arbitration in accordance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act, 2010 (Act 798) of Ghana.
  4. Courts: Matters not subject to arbitration may be brought before the courts of Ghana.

The parties agree to attempt to resolve all disputes in good faith before resorting to legal proceedings.

8. Amendments to Terms

People's Liberation Party reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Notice of material changes will be provided through:

  • Email notification to registered members.
  • Announcement on the official party website.
  • Notice during party meetings or events.

Continued membership after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and People's Liberation Party regarding your membership.
